Best Bumper Sticker EVAH

My husband doesn't buy me flowers, hardly ever. It bothers him that they die. He's not your traditional Hallmark-romantic kind of guy -- never has been.

But every time I come home from the grocery store, he immediately comes to the door (I think he hears the garage door open from any spot in the house and comes running) and asks if I need help carrying stuff in the house. I love that.

This bumper sticker was on the car next to me in the parking lot at the grocery store, and it pleased me to no end. I was smiling all the way home!

In case it's not legible in "blog-size", it says "Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons ...for you are crunchy & good with ketchup."

I have no idea what that sticker means, but it's funny. :)

I think "you" is "us", and we'd be tasty for a dragon :)

Either way, I'm staying away from any dragons I see!

oh, well then, are you a vegetarian dragon?

I'm not a vegetarian, but I don't eat people... ;)

not even with ketchup?

Well, the ones that taste good with ketchup, I wouldn't REALLY consider people, anyway... MUAHAHAHAHA!

::Slaps forehead::

Duh. :)

Oh, yeah, you didn't get to see my car while you were here, did you?

Oh, wait, that one got taken off for the current batch, but it will make a reappearance at some point...

oh how fun! You guys rotate your stickers? I love that!

I do! I have too many to fit on at once, so they're all on magnets and I switch them out when I get bored...

it's like changing purses! I love that!

I just saw that quote on someone's bookshelf, just a few seconds ago! It was ktbean:
http://bookcrossing.com/mybookshelf/Ktbean

I guess I should take that as an omen, a personal warning -- stay away from dragons! (note to self: Stay away from dragons!)

I think that's a wise life motto...

WistfulDragon has that on her bookshelf too, not surprisingly.

Hubby usually helps me with the groceries when he's home, too. I'm not really a flower kind of girl. I like to look at them, and sometimes I pick some out of our garden and put them in a vase, but I don't want to spend good money on something that will just die in a few days. My mother, however, loves flowers, and Daddy always gave her an arrangement on special days. I try to keep it up, for his sake, and for hers.

That's so sweet! I have always liked flowers, but I hate the cleanup :)

I actually HAD one of those on my GEO Metro! (And a Darwin fish too!)

LOL!

The jeep has NO stickers, and the Xterra only has the classic Colorado "Native" sticker.

Sadly, Unk doesn't like stickers on his cars. I know!

Neither of our current ones have anything on them either. I had a flag in my back window, but I scraped it off with a razor blade in a fit of pique one night. And I don't want to advertise who I really am around here. Something bad might happen to my car.

that's sad. I'm sorry.

BTW, did you hear we had another 8 or so inches of snow between last night and this afternoon? Of course, as you know, the roads were almost totally dry when I got groceries at 5:00 :)

I DID hear about the snow, and I wondered how you were getting on. Glad it was just an ordinary Colorado storm. Sunshine tomorrow?

of course!

It was so funny (and normal) today -- the morning was all "oh, I'm SO glad I work from home" and "let's drink hot liquids and not work much" and the afternoon was all "hey, the sun's out. guess I'll run to the store"!

hee hee

It was melting so fast that when I walked to the mailbox, there was a mini river flowing down hill!

I did take a picture of the back deck, because I loved the look of the lawn furniture getting covered, but *someone* hasn't downloaded it yet.

My hubby's not romantic like that either.

But one day, it snowed and he came to pick me up at work because he knew I didn't like to drive in it.... It's a good thing he did, because the normally 45 minute drive took 5 1/2 hours! It hardly ever snows here, so everyone drives like a little old lady. So yeah, it's not always about the flowers!

That is so TOTALLY sweet!

Not about the flowers at ALL :)

I agree with your husband re cut flowers. My husband knows not to give me flowers unless they come with a pot. This year for Valentine's day he gave me a red rose bush.

now THAT'S thinking! (and very sweet too)

Yeah, my husband isn't a traditional romantic either, but that's fine by me. My favorite thing that he does is driving 40 minutes from his office and the same back just to have lunch with me.

Obviously we don't do this often, but I feel really special when we do. :-)

ohhhhh that is awfully sweet. He's a keeper :)

He's absolutely right! Why spend a fortune at Hallmark's and on flowers when all they will do is end in a shoebox or the bin after some time whereas helping you with the groceries is the gentlemanly behaviour that you'll remember forever. ;-)
Go Unk!

Having said the above, I realise I'm not the Hallmark kind of girl, either. ;-)

Re: quirky romantic gestures...Mrfsr does occasionally bring me flowers for no reason. But in a local quirk, our preferred florist has an arrangement with Schartner Farms which provides them with plants, pumpkins and...freshly baked pies. I'm not talking "Mrs. Smith's" crap. I mean honest-to-goodness, baked today with fruit from their own orchards pies. And they ain't cheap. So now, from time to time, Mrfsr will go to the florist, walk right by the roses and bring me home a peach pie or a strawberry rhubarb pie.
Nothin' says love like flaky, gooey sweetness!

I love the gesture. I WANT the bumper-sticker!!!!!
